I was talking with one of my girlfriends the other day about different ways to help teach our preschoolers to read, and she suggested using the closed captioning service on the tv. Now, why didn't I think of that??
It makes perfect sense, the words on the screen can help children with word recognition or to better comprehend what has been said and, as a result, improve their reading skills. Great for children as well.

Well, I would agree if I had children at home; but can you just set it up for the children's programming? I think it would drive me crazy to have "subtitles" at the bottom of the screen for every show I watched!
