More Boredom..

So much so that I am sitting here bombarding all my Facebook friends with pieces of Flair so I can earn more Flair credits. And sending Bobbie a penguin.

Yes, I have a Facebook account. Check me out if ya want to. Click.... H-E-R-E

And I am hungry.. I think I forgot to eat today. Yep, I forgot. I had a Starbucks and that was filling because I wanted hot coffee and the stupid girl gave my dad a cold ice creamy thing instead. Dumbasses.

So now what... I could scrap but I am not feeling very creative at the moment.. hence the reason why I am not designing.

Oh, I keep meaning to post this but I keep forgetting but is there anyone out there who by chance buys and drinks Coke but doesn't save the rewards points? Would you like to donate your unused points to the "Saving to get my kids a Wii for Christmas" fund? If so, please email me.

On that same note, I don't save my Pepsi rewards points when I buy pepsi so if anyone would like my Pepsi codes, email me.

Off to input some codes.. have a great holiday weekend.

Which is better?

I re-did the purple in my hair yesterday except instead of just applying the purple to streaks like we did last time.. (dont kill me Suz) I just did my whole head with what was left of the Manic Panic.

It took really well.. making the existing purple REALLLLLLY purple and the rest of it a nice dark purplish/reddish/brown color. It's hard to see unless I am out in the sun but I had Dan take a few pics last night. The sun was going down so only a few came out.. this is my fave but I can't decide between B&W or Color. Dan says Color.. Bobbie says B&W. I like them both. I used the Demo version of the Totally Rad Photo Actions on this photo btw. They rock!

So here they are..

Bored..

First, I can't believe it's almost been a full week since I blogged. That is so not like me. However, I have been keeping busy. I put out 4 new products this past week and I have 2 more ready for next week.

Today I am bored out of my skull. Dan is up working a race we were SUPPOSED to be working together. Have I mentioned how much I hate how much he has to work just so we can survive? Lately? It sucks. Alot of the time I am worried that it will eventually get the best of our marriage. It's already putting a strain on it. It's been rough. So, I am sitting here.. I've read everything that looked remotely interesting, watched my soap, I even scrapped! Can't show ya that just yet.. soon I hope.

Now I am hungry. I've got no snacks in the house, no money because Dan took the bank card and no truck to go get something if I did have money because he took that too! My dad called earlier to ask if he could come over to see me and the kids.... and use my air conditioning. Oh and did I want any donuts. Umm No and No. Say it for what it is dude.. you are cheap.

I told him I didn't want any company because I'm pissed about being home this weekend and pissed because the kids are acting like crazy idiots because they know their father isn't here and won't be here for the next 3 days. It makes me feel like a horrible parent because I can't control my kids without him here. I used to be able to.. not sure what changed.

Anyway, back to my dad, he says.. well maybe I can help. I said no because you don't help and you try to bribe me with food and it's manipulative and I don't like it. So then he busts out the guilt trip... how I am all he has and he's sooo lonely and he's so broke and has nothing. I hate being an only child for this very reason.. and I'm only HIS only child.

Note to single child families- don't ever do this to your kids when they are older, it only makes them want to put you in a home. I have permission to put my mom in a home, by the way.

So, of course.. now I am hungry and I've got no snacks. I have popcorn but that has to wait til the kids go to bed otherwise they will want it. I really want chips, anything chocolate, or cookies.

Hmm I have a Safeway gift certificate... except again I have NO CAR! Speaking of my car... some guy hit on me at 7-11 yesterday. Told me how hot I looked driving my big ass truck (Ford F150 with a lift kit).. oh and he liked my shoes. I like my shoes too thanks.. :)

Ok.. so that's probably enough ranting from me.. bless you if you made it this far. Have a great weekend.

Today..

I don't think I will make it out of this bed anytime soon. I am having a lazy day. I am sitting here in my bed, playing cards on yahoo, talking to Bobbie on MSN, watching the finale of the Singing Office, and listening to my friend yak on about her new Schlage hardware for her home. They are remodeling bit by bit. If you are like me and have never heard of Schlage, I have been told that Schlage is one of the most popular line of exterior and interior door hardware.

The kids are downstairs playing video games and hopefully not tearing up the house. It's rather quiet down there.. I am afraid to go down there. Alex insists there isn't a mess but his judgement isn't the best. I plan on cleaning like crazy as soon as they are in bed just so my husband doesn't have to come home to a house that looks like a hurricane hit it.

On another note, some friends of ours just got engaged this weekend. So a big congrats to them!

Anyway, I'm going to venture on downstairs and get some lunch. I am starving!

400 Posts!!

Not that 400 posts is a huge accomplishment or anything, I just logged in to blog and noticed that this post I am writing now will make a nice round number so I thought, "Hey let's celebrate!" Why not right?

It's just another Saturday here in the land of chaos. Dan is at the track and I am here at home trying to get a little work done..not very successfully though. I am sort of tired of looking at the same thing I have been looking at for the last three days. Click, Click, Click, delete. It's kind of boring and mundane.

I do have some good news though, Dan got a raise at work! It makes me feel a little more secure although I would like to find something for myself as well to try to help out a little more than I have been. Not something else to replace what I am already doing, but a little something in addition to. I like where I am right now, I wouldn't want to be moving companies or anything like that, I just need more money.

Someone in a forum I go to linked me to a company that offers positions doing phone work from home. It sounds like something I could do and I aminterested in it but I am worried that I would have the kids screaming in the background and I wouldn't be able to do it. The kids are going back to school pretty soon and I will just have Greyson at home with me so it might be a bit quieter. They seem to be pretty flexible in their service hours so I may be able to make it work, we'll see. The pay is pretty enticing.. it's $9 an hour for sitting at home in my pj's and answering the phone, which I do anyway! Sounds like a no brainer huh?

We'll see what hubby thinks when he gets home. You all enjoy the rest of your Saturday!

Housewares and Chocolate.. and wine.

I went to a Pampered Chef party tonight at my sister in-laws. She was hosting a party for her friend Christal. It was a lot of fun! She served lots of chocolate, always a good time.. and we polished off 3 bottles of wine. I didn't, I had to drive home and I don't really like wine too much.

Christal made these puffed pastries which we cut open, she had each of us participate so we could use the products instead of just watching her do it. it was much more fun that way I think. Then we filled them with this chocolate mousse filling and sliced strawberries, hmm yummy. I think I had like 3 of them!

After a couple people left and it died down a little, Shala (my sister-in law) was telling us how excited she was because she and her sister-in law (her brother's wife) signed up for a session with the personal trainer at the gym. So she's all excited to get some one on one time with an expert and the fitness equipment.

I had to finally come home, not that I really wanted to or anything because I was having a lot of fun but I had to go to bed, which I am obviously not doing since I am here typing this post. I haven't even had a whole lot of caffeine, my last coke was at 4 before I even left the house. I am just amped because I got out of the house by myself for awhile. I left early to get my nails fixed before the party. I was like 10 days overdue for a fill, my nails looked like hell. I got them a lot shorter this time and I'm having an easier time typing. A lot less typo's.

Oh well, I guess I am off to bed to stare at the inside of my eyeballs and listen to all the rambling inside my head for about an hour.

Catch y'all on the flip side.

My Anniversary Flop!

Sunday was our 12th wedding anniversary. Dan was scheduled to work a race so I was going to have to spend it alone.. well, as alone as it can get with 5 kids.

He calls Saturday afternoon and says find a sitter for sunday, we need you up here. Ok, so I get my mom to take the kids and because we have to leave at 7 am for the track (it's a little over an hour's drive) she took them Saturday night. I had a few hours of quiet before Dan got home and then we watched a movie before we went to bed.

Sunday, we get up to the track and no one is there. Dan calls his friend to see where he's is and turns out the truck broke down on the freeway about a half an hour away. So we went to go pick up the trailer keys so we could start work for the day but the keys got left in the truck which by now has been towed to a local dealership, but not close enough to get them out. We were on the motorcycle so it's not like we could give him a ride to get them. So no work.

So we go home, put a new battery in OUR truck, get it gassed and washed and go pick up his friend at the train station (30 min drive) so he can borrow our truck to go pick up the trailer at the track. By now it's 2 pm.. then they spend the next 3-4 hours installing the brake controller on my truck. So then it's dinner time... we spend our anniversary dinner at a local pub watching the Olympics.. the three of us. Yay.

Boy am I ever glad I didn't invest in anything too special, like new lingerie or anything fun like that.. he pretty much went straight to bed after we watched our movie. I had to stay up and wait for my mom to bring the kids home.

The upside is that it wasn't only just me who had a bad Sunday. Apparently, my sister-inlaw hit another boat while she was driving theirs.. OOPS! And her brother blew out a couple of tires on his way up to meeting them at the Delta. Only way I can think to explain it is the after effects of the full moon on Saturday night. What a weekend! Hope yours was better than ours.

Does this exist?

This was the question of the day over in my world and I found out that it does however not as well as I had hoped it would.

What I was looking for was a specific type of color scheme generator that lets you upload a photo and it pulls all the colors from the photo into a swatch with hex codes. Low and behold I did find one that does exactly that however the swatches come out more monochrome than anything else. I'll still use it though because it really is a cool little tool. It's called ColorHunter.

I love these types of generators, which ones do you use? Which is your favorite?

My Mom Is A Dork!

Last weekend I was over at my mom's and an Allstate commercial came on the tv. She said, "I can never understand what that g iuy is saying, something like 'That's Allstate Stan..', who the heck is Stan? It makes no sense!"

I'm laughing because she's a dork, so I said "Ok let's rewind it and listen." Well, he didn't say it in that commercial, so I googled it. Apparently, it's not part of the current slogan. What the actual slogan said was "That's Allstate's stand, are you in good hands?" Stand.. not Stan mom!

I swear she needs to use the closed captioning on her tv just so she can understand what they are saying... either that or a hearing aid!

**For those who are wondering what rock I am hiding under today (this week), I'm ok.. nothing's wrong. I am just feeling anti-social so I have unplugged my phone and am just not feeling up to talking to anyone right now. I'll be back to normal in a few days.

Anniversaries...

Our 12 year anniversary is coming up next weekend and I'm trying to think up some good gift ideas for my husband. He's a man of few tastes.. it pretty much comes down to alcohol and electronics.

One idea I had was a subscription to one of those wine of the month clubs. He likes wine and likes to pretend he's all sophisticated. It's kinda cute actually.

I have an electronics item in mind also but I was thinking I would save that for his birthday and I can't mention it because he reads here. I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise or anything.

Or I could get him a new game for the PC. I have no idea which one to get though.. or which one he even wants. I guess I could ask the kid. He might know.

He is such a hard person to shop for sometimes.. wish me luck!!

Just another day in the city...

No, No, No I am not going to bust out in song, don't worry your ears are safe.

I spent the day in the city (that would be San Francisco by the way) with my mom. She had a convention thing to go to and had wanted to take my son. Well, he didn't want to go so my husband suggested that I go in his place and get out of the house for a bit. Shoot.. you don't have to tell me twice!

I had about 20 minutes notice and I needed to shower, do my hair AND my makeup..so yeah we were late.It was an all day event anyway so it was OK. It was a really good thing that my son didn't want to go because when we got there they had big yellow signs that said no children under 16 would be let in. He's only 12.

he would have been completely bored anyway. He has no interest in listening to demonstrations about makeup, acne creams, and facial cleansers. They had a lot more going on as well, like energy drinks, vitamins, household products and so forth.

I got a really cool little lip gloss sample and it wasn't a cheesy little thing on a cardboard card. It's like the size of one of those little cell phone charm lip gloss things. Really pretty color too.

After that we went out to dinner at this cute little pub-style restaurant that didn't serve pub food (??). It was more upscale and bit more pricey but the food was good. I had Tortellini and pesto sauce. I also had a yummy margarita. it was called a La Pinta margarita. It is made with La Pinta Pomegranate tequila, lime juice and sweet &sour mix. REALLY good!

We got back into town and we had to stop off at my brother's house to give him his work keys. My mom is borrowing his car til hers is out of the shop.. a whole OTHER story there. Anyway, we got there while they were in the middle of dinner and my brother being the good host that he is offered to make me a drink. So, I'm like sure what the heck.. hit me!

So he hands me this concoction he made and refuses to tell me what is in it. Just taste it he says.. famous last words right? I thought so too. It turned out to be pretty good. It was lemonade with sliced strawberries, ice, and vodka. I normally don't do vodka but this was pretty good.

We played with the girls for a little bit and then headed home. So that was my day, how was yours?

Hilarious!

A friend of mine directed me to this blog called "Cake Wrecks" here on blogspot. This blog is hysterical! It's all about professionally made cake disasters. Some are just silly stupid, some are just ugly and some just belong in the "WHAT??" catagory.

I spent a good portion of my night last night reading the posts and yjust all sorts of wrong on so many levels, you'll know it when you see it.

My favorite one was titled "Naked Mohawk-Baby Carrot Jockeys". The title alone had me in hysterics! Still makes me laugh every time I think about it. The post was funny too.

Anyway, go check it out and have a laugh on me. But, be careful you may need to wear an adult diaper while reading!

Task of the Day

Setting up a budget. I do so much better when I know what I have and not freaking out about what might possibly be pending.

What inspired me to get off my duff? A good friend of mine found herself in a much larger hole and didn't realize she was in a hole at all until she felt the dirt being thrown in on top of her.

So what better day to get this going than payday! This week we have a few bills, I have to pay on the phone, the electric, the car insurance for the truck, and food. I know it'll make me feel better once we are caught up, I just have a bit of trouble actually letting GO of the money.

The good news is that Dan will be heading back to the races next week, they were taking a bit of a break. It's just a one day event but it's better than nothing! Hopefully it'll be a good one.

Alright, enough procrastinating.. I'm off to figure out all our needs and whatnot.

Have a great day.

Oh the things the Pizza Girl says...

We ordered pizza for dinner the other night and the moment she said "Hello. welcome to Blah Blah Pizza, What can I do for you?", I knew she wasn't the brightest pepperoni in the pack.

She's taking my order and she asked if that was going to be all for us and I asked what kind of sides they had and she rattled some off.. "Salads, garlic bread, buffalo wings.... *insert valley girl accent here* (no lie), and we have dessert pizza and that's like for dessert...."

Ummm, ya think??

Exhausted..

Oh boy, where do I even begin. Let's start with my so called "break".

Last week, I decided to take an impromptu break from designing to declutter and get a little more organized. You'll start noticing newer, prettier, and improved product previews popping up in the next few weeks. I'm not going to change them all and upload them all at once. I'll be doing a few at a time

I didn't announce this publicly, just to my creative team. Anyway, it hasn't been much of a break... I made two new products lol. One of which, took me literally all day today and it's not really even ready for packaging yet, almost though.

I had to run out to the grocery store tonight to grab a few things plus get money orders to pay the rent, which was late because it was past the 5th and they charge $35 per day that it's late. UGH.

I made Rice Krispie Treats after I got home.. it made me feel better :)

Before I forget, I have some products that will be retiring soon so I have placed them on sale for only $1 each. There are several element sets, some paper packs, a few alphas, and even a full page kit! For just $1. They are available at both BlytheEvans.com and in the Clearance section at Oscraps.

Alright, I better get out of here before I fall asleep typing. I don't think that would be a pretty site.

Have a good night.

Being a Mom of Teenagers...

My oldest just turned 14 last week and I have another who will be turning 13 in December.

A list of things that come with the territory:

  1. Attitudes and smart remarks, oh wait.. that's their father.
  2. Sleeping til noon-This I thank god for because usually he's up with the sun.
  3. Acne control- Haven't quite mastered this one yet.
  4. The appetite of a horse or any other larger animal that eats a lot.
  5. The discovery of the opposite sex.- UGH.
  6. Smelly feet.- Can you say ew? I can. EW.
  7. Never ending piles of laundry.
  8. The phone constantly ringing and the only time it's for you is when you owe someone money.- No Habla Inglis?
  9. You become an ATM.
  10. The overtaking of every electronic appliance in the house.

I am sure there is and will be more.. I think I have subconsciously blocked it all out, it's very traumatic you know. I think I liked it better at about age 5-6 months.. they aren't mobile yet and they don't talk back. And if by chance they DO talk back.. it's really funny and often caught on tape.

Va-Va-Vacuum!

I am in the market to buy a new vacuum cleaner. Mine broke down awhile ago and right now I have a handme down from my Grandma when she moved to San Diego. It's pretty good but it's old and I go through vacuums like crazy since in my house it gets used 2 or 3 times a day.

So I am thinking that I need to splurge and buy something of higher quality. So I have narrowed it down to three brands.. Kenmore, like the one I used to have til the kids broke it, Dyson, or Miele.

I really loved my Kenmore. I had it for several years without any problems and then one of the kids cut the hose and the warranty had run out. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it took bags.

I have heard great things about Dyson too and that new roller ball thing looks pretty interesting.

Then there are Miele vacuums. They are supposed to be really good at reducing allergens in the home. I have a son who suffers from severe seasonal allergies and this is something that really appeals to me. The only thing I am struggling with is which model I would need.

So does anyone have any input on vacuums? Not just the ones I am talking about here but any others you have knowledge about would be great too. Thanks!!

"You learn something new everyday..."

Ever hear that saying? Well, it's true.

Would you like to know what I learned yesterday? Of course you would.

I learned that it NOT a good idea to stick rubbing alcohol up your nose. Not only does it not smell very good but it stings something fierce.

Now why in the world would possess me (or anyone else for that matter) to stick rubbing alcohol up my nose? Well, ok.. here's the back story.

I have my nose pierced. I had it done when I was 17 but I stopped wearing it when I was pregnant with my son because I lost it and I just didn't get a new stud. I figured with a baby it might not be a good idea. Every few years, I'd start wearing it again but end up taking it out because it would hurt or something.

I reopened it for my trip to Reno but I bought studs specifically made for noses, so I don't even feel it. I took it out last night to clean it and the hole and I stuck a alcohol soaked Q-tip up my nose to clean the inside. Yeah, note to self- Don't do that again.

I am sitting over at my mom's this weekend surfing the net and checking out Vegas vacations, I've never been to Vegas so if we move back to Nevada I think I might like to take a trip down and check it out. Just to say I've done it and maybe collect some more Player's cards. Just something to do I guess.

My mom and I are going to watch a movie so I am going to get going. Hope you all are having a fab weekend! I'll tell you all about mine tomorrow.

TGIF

Are you all ready for the weekend? I think I am, although I am not all that sure!

My kids just tracked off of school for the month and won't return back to school until September 2nd. So it is going to be a very busy month in my house.

I don't have much planned for this weekend. Hubby has to work a half day tomorrow and I am not sure what my mom's plans are. Next weekend, I am taking my little ones to a birthday party for my friend's little boy. Tomorrow is his actual birthday, Happy Birthday Little Man!

Totally off topic, but I got my apartment newsletter today and in it they mentioned that we might be getting a few ellipticals for our on site workout room. Sounds pretty nice. Normally, I wouldn't even think about mentioni8ng it, except Hubby has been talking about joining a gym. I think he should just walk the 100 ft and use the equipment here for free!

Anyway, that's what's happening over here. I hope you all have a great weekend!
