Did I forget?

I was just searching the posts for the past couple of days and I think I actually forgot, not completely unheard of though! After I got back from my trip, I made a comment to Dan about moving back to Reno.. totally not serious or anything. And he says, "Well, it might actually happen.."

I am completely dumbfounded. So, yeah now we may actually be moving back to Reno. I have mixed feelings about it because where I am now, I am close to my mom. We do alot together and she helps me out alot with the kids.

My brother and sister inlaw also live near by and I would miss them and my nieces so ymuch. I do alot of babysitting for them but I truely enjoy it because I love spending time with them. They are a big part of the reason I wanted to move back to California from Pennsylvania.

I don't want to be the aunt they don't know because I live so far away.. although I would be close enough to come home often. But then I have to think about what is best for our family and it's definately not living in California. It's just too darn expensive here.

Anyway, I have been browsing craigslist ads for rentals to get an idea of what we'd have to pay and Dan has been browsing job sites to see what's available out there. I've found alot of really nice looking houses among all the ads for used Harleys and whatnot. I am starting to get really excited. I only wish that we hadn't started talking about this during the summer because now we have to wait til school is over here even though it would be easy to just pull them out and do it now because most of Nevada is on a traditional schedule. I do remember one school being year round but I am not sure if they are still doing that at all.

Ok, well I have to get a move on this morning.. I've got some things to do around here that didn't get done because Dan got off work early so I ended up not finishing my work and just chilling out.

Have a great day!

I am back!

See I told you I'd be back! I haven't accomplished much today though. I've been feeling kind of stuck the last few days. Kind of in a rut of sorts. I did manage to do my own laundry but I have not yet gotten to the bathroom. I did however manage to clean my diamond rings.

I did go into the bathroom to clean it but I got distracted by my jewelry cleaner and then it was time to take Liam to school. Dan also came home at lunchtime because it was so slow at work, they let him off early. He does have to work a half day on Saturday though.

Now I'm just sitting around not doing much of anything.. except writing this. I do need to go outside real quick and take some photos for an idea I have for a new element. Hopefully it will work out the way I have it in my head.

Wish me luck!!

It's Here! It's Here!

The card reader I ordered has arrived!! I tried it out yesterday and it is so much easier to get my pictures off my camera. Now I have to order myself a new keyboard for the desktop because the space bar has decided to give out and it sticks unless you pound on it every time you want to use it.

What is on the agenda for today? You tell me! I do know that I have to clean my bathroom. I went in there last night and found that my heathens children have covered it in toothpaste and spit wads. Lovely huh? Oh, that reminds me I need to switch the laundry.. sounds exciting doesn't it? This week's been kind of dull, nothing much going on.

Sorry for the short post this morning. I will be back with more later after I wake up, but I will leave you with this little Link of The Day: custom pens. Great little promotional tool because unlike with business cards, everyone could use a pen so they don't get tossed out as much.

Be back soon!

Goodnight Y'all!

I sure have been chatty the last few days, haven't I? I was going to call it quits after the last post but right now I am just trying to keep my hands busy because my tattoo is itching like crazy!

I am doing my best to ignore it but that is hard to do when you have an itch its all you can think about until you scratch it. I have even gone so far as to even scrub down my kitchen faucets. That's pretty bad since Alex decided to surprise me this morning by cleaning up the kitchen up. Now I am here typing out this lovely message to all of you, arent you glad you tuned in?

Oh well, I am off to bed. I have to get up early with the kids to get them off to school on time.

Have a great night!

Getting Re-Aquainted....

I was a bit bored the other day so I decided I would try to boot up my laptop and see what happened. So far, it's not being weird.. so that's good. I am not sure how long it will behave for me though but I am sure making the most of it for the time being.

I am sitting here in my living room re-learning how to type on this thing because I have gotten so used to the large keyboard and also because I have my nails done, hehe. All of a sudden, it's gotten really dark in here! I really need to get new table lamps for this room. We've been using the lights from the dining room and kitchen and the dining room light is off at the moment, so I guess that is what made me think of it just now. I saw some really cute home furnishings at Target the other day. They always have such cute stuff.

Dan and I went out last night to Firkin & Beaver for a drink (or two!) before we went to the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight. It was awesome. Heath Ledger was outstanding as The Joker, I really wasn't sure how well he would be able to pull it off but I was floored. I am sorry that this had to be his last movie as he was still so young but at least he went out with a bang.. professionally anyway. I know he will be missed by all.

On another note- Oscraps will be having some scheduled downtime while we put new servers in place, we will go down tomorrow July, 28th and reopen on August 1st.

Hope you all had a good weekend!

I Almost Forgot!

The other day, I got this email from my favorite clothing store, Torrid. I had signed up for their rewards club thing they have when I was in buying a few things recently.

Anyway, this email was to announce that they are now accepting Paypal transactions on their website. Not just credit and debit cards but instant funds to buy clothes with. Oh boy, I thinking this is going to be a very BAD thing for this shopaholic. I resist and close the email.

The next morning, I grab my coffee and sit down at the computer. The first thing I do is read my email. What do I see before me? Yep, another newsletter.
I open it and the first thing that I see is the following in big BOLD letters:

50% OFF ALL CLEARANCE ITEMS- 3 DAYS ONLY. NOW ACCEPTING PAYPAL!

Oh man am I in trouble now..I couldn't resist any longer. Here they are waving a huge sale in front of me and they take paypal..which by the way I had some money in.

Yes, I caved.. but the good news is I got a great deal. I bought two new pairs of cropped pants with the drawstring at the cuff, which are regularly priced at $44.00 a piece! And I got them for about $15 each. I also found an online coupon code for an additional 10% off my entire purchase. How cool is that? I always love getting a good deal.

Much to my surprise they arrived today and I only ordered them a few days ago so their standard ground shipping is very fast. I am trying very hard to resist going back and spending more money.. I really need some more new bras, and tops too. I am secretly hoping that they will extend the sale so that I can get some more stuff when I get paid again. A girl can dream right?

sale

Ouch.

My knee is starting to bug me again. It usually only starts aching when it's really muggy out and it's about to rain. People always look at me funny when I start predicting the weather because it's always a day or two in advance and the weather is usually sunny and clear.

I had a little roller skating accident and messed up my knee. I was in a full leg brace and on crutches for about 8 weeks and now from time to time it still gives me problems. Now I just take a higher prescription dosage of Motrin for it but back then, they gave me these pills that were so huge they reminded me of the horse supplements my grandmother used to give her horses. They were huge I tell you!

Dan and I are supposed to go out to a movie tonight and now with my knee acting up I am not sure I will be able to wear my favorite shoes. So I guess it's flip flops for me for a little bit.

Oh well, I guess it's a good thing I like my flips! Hope you all are having a fantastic weekend!

Where did the week go?

Now granted, my week didn't even start until Tuesday but still!

I finally went and got my nails filled. I was supposed to go before I left for Reno but I didn't have time so I was like a week over due and my nails were about to break. I was really surprised that none of them snapped off. I really like this salon I am going to. The guys are super nice and do really good work.

I had a hard time picking a color for my nails. I really wanted to match the color I had on my toes from the pedicure in Reno but they didn't have it in the salon. So instead I chose to get a French Manicure. Apparently, it's been a really long time since I've had a french manicure because now they use air tools to airbrush the white tip. Remember back in the day when they used a little strip of tape across the tip and then handpainted each nail? Ahh, the memories!

I also got my hair cut again. it was starting to grow out and it was really bugging me. It was starting to get to heavy and when it gets heavy like that, it won't hold a style very well or for very long. It's mostly the same cut from before just a little shorter in the back. It's alot like Victoria Beckham's in this picture except hers is a little longer on top but it is similar.

It's longer in the front like this too. Now it's almost time to redo my purple again because it is starting to fade. The girl who did my eyebrows was commenting on how cute it looked. I had been in for the eyebrow waxing just before we colored my hair so I was talking with her about it. I was really surprised that she remembered though.

I better get a move on because I still need to shower before I take Liam to school. You all have a great day!!

eBillme.com

I was recently given the opportunity to try out a new way of shopping online using the website eBillme.com. It is an easy way to pay cash and shop online without having to use a credit card or give out your personal information.

You just go to the eBillme site, do your shopping and check out as you would normally but instead of entering in your credit card information you just choose the eBillme option.
Once you complete your order you will be taken to a new page that gives you all the information you need to pay straight from your checking account. For new customers, you will have to take this information and go to your bank and add eBillme as a "New Payee". That part is a one time thing, once eBillme.com is set up all you have to do is make your payment.

This is a great option for those who don't like to give out their personal information online or their only option is to pay straight from their bank accounts. The demo they have walks you through it all, it is pretty simple.

Also, because I shopped from TigerDirect.com, I qualified to receive a $20 gas card good on a future purchase. With times like this, that gas card will definitely come in handy!

I got a card reader for my camera using eBillme.com, I am very excited about being able to finally make this purchase. I cannot wiat til it gets here.

I am always losing my camera cable and I hate having to switch back and forth between my Wacom tablet and my camera all the time. Sure, I could buy a new cable but I have 3 of them.. I just can't locate them at the moment and I know as soon as I buy one, I'll find them. Go figure!

Tattoo Pics

Pre-Tat.. the thing I was covering up is being pointing at..

Mid Tat.. Ray was such a sweetheart. Here he was doing the 5th flower which is almost on the underside of my arm. Pretty sensitive area.

More Yummy Goodness.. yes I have a thing for the bad boys.

Tat Complete!

Dan just took these outside our door.. excuse the dorky look, sun was in my eyes.

Close up of some of the flowers.

And there you have it! I am already planning my next trip and designing my next tat.

I am home...

Let's start with Friday. Jen and I took our sweet time getting up to Suzanne's to pick her up. We stopped at Starbucks for a much needed coffee and hit up Target for a few minor things before we left town. You know things like accessories, extra toiletries, and shoes. Yes, shoes are a necessity!!

Finally, about 2 and a half hours later we got up to Suz's to pick her up which resulted in another 30-45 minute stop so we really didn't get "on the road" until about 2:30-3:00 pm.. which is why we didn't actually get checked into our hotel and in our room until 7:30. But you can bet we were on the casino floor by 8:30!

Friday night we walked through the 3 connecting casinos, Circus Circus (where we stayed), Silver Legacy, and El Dorado. This is where we started our mighty collection of Player's Club cards. Now, this is a must do if you're ever in Reno or Vegas because they give you all sorts of promotional items and comps.

Saturday we couldn't really sleep in too long because we had spa appointments at noon. Suzanne and I both had spa pedicures and Jen got her eyebrows waxed. Then we went down to the new mall area and hit up Old Navy, who was having a really great sale. They had all their clearance items marked down 50%. I picked up a new pair of denim Capri's and 2 new shirts for less than $15.

Saturday night we ate at the Romanza Italian restaurant which is located inside the Peppermill. The food was pretty good, a little overpriced but our service was horrible. Our waiter was personable but we felt ignored. It took them about 15-20 minutes to just get our read and we had 2 other tables get served and leave before we did.. one of which was actually served food before we were. We didn't have terribly complicated meals either.

We only stayed at the Peppermill long enough to get our club cards and played for an hour. Then we headed back down to the strip to play and drink some closer to our hotel. Suz called it a night around 2 am and Jen and I didn't get back up to the room til about 3 am.

Sunday, we got to sleep in since we didn't have anything planned and weren't checking out until Monday. We slept til like noon and didn't get out of the room til nearly 2. We got some "breakfast" and headed back to the casino. I think we played for awhile and then back up to the room to change into nighttime clothes and then back down for more fun and food I am sure.

Monday, we had brunch at IHOP and then we scouted out tattoo shops because I have been dying to get another and it's been 8 years since my last. The first shop we went to looked really busy and we had passed another smaller shop just around the corner that specialized in cover-ups and custom designs. So we went back there and I got a very decent price for what I wanted and he did an amazing job. Not to mention the tattoo artist was some serious eye candy.. hmm yummy.

I was covering up a really stupid little thing I did on my arm when I was 15. it was faded and old so it covered up really well. You can't even see where or what it was. Ray was even impressed with himself.. and you know that says a lot. It is a little chain of 5 purple and yellowish-orange flowers, all with 5 petals each and connected by a little flourishy vine. I promise to post pictures when I get them back. Jen took before, after, and during photos for me.

After the tattoo we headed home. We had one last casino to hit on the way out of Reno, The Atlantis. We got our player's cards and played for a little bit and left. Now, I just have to hit up all the las vegas hotels and my collection should be complete!

We did make one last stop at Harrah's/Harvey's Lake Tahoe because when we signed up for the cards in Reno we got a whole strip of coupons, one of which was a $20 free slot play comp. So we spent about an hour playing there and then we were really on our way home. We got back to Suz's about 7 pm and I was home around 8:45 pm.

We had a really great time and I can't wait to go back. I am already designing my next tattoo, hehe.

Looking At Rental Homes..

I tend to torture myself from time to time by looking at rental homes I can't afford. It's more like a reminder of the things I want to work towards so that I am reminded of what I am working towards and it keeps me going.

So, I was poking around and I came across some images from the Hilton Head rentals website. Man, those places are NICE! Expensive but really nice. They are vacation rentals not everyday living rentals but still it's nice to dream right? I wonder if they are covered under the Trendwest time share thing my mom bought into.. that would be one way of living the dream!

Tomorrow I am finally leaving for Reno! I am so excited.. only 11 more hours to go. Don't be surprised if I don't hit the blog until I get back. I am not sure how much time I will have while I am gone.. or if our hotel has WiFi.

So have a great weekend and I'll see ya on Tuesday!!

Technical Garble..

Last night my husband was explaining to me (or at least trying) why he wouldn't be home after work on Thursday night.

He's got a race to work this weekend and is planning on going up after work on Friday, so Thursday after work he is heading over to his buddy's house to do a little bit of maintanance on the bike before he takes off. Can't have it breaking down on him halfway there now can we? Nope, I guess not.

He also said something about replacing a CAT5e in cable in the trailer. If you don't know what a CAT5e cable is (because neither did I), CAT stands for Cable And Telephone and 5e is the type of cable. It is apparently often used in structured cabling for computer networks.

I think that's about where my brain shut off and my auto acknowledge pilot kicked in because I don't remember the rest of the conversation at all.. I just know I did alot of smiling, nodding, and saying things like "Oh ok" and "uh huh".

I am a little freaked out about Friday because I am supposed to leave around 10 am and I'm still not sure who is going to be home with my kids! My mom will know today whether or not she has jury duty.. please pray for not because then I don't have to worry about who's watching my kids while I am gone. Dan is staying home from work on Monday and she is definately taking them Sat/Sunday while he is at the race.. it's just that Friday I am freaking out about.

Ok deeeep breath.. things will work out. They always do! Ok now I have to run off again and clean up a bit and get ready to go babysit for my nieces. Check ya later!

It's that time again!

It's time to discuss your favorite swimwear! Ok, so we should have done this at the beginning of the summer, not halfway through it but hey, sometimes life just gets in the way.

I'm pretty much bringing it up because I'm going to Reno in the middle of the summer and it's going to be fairly warm (ha! that's an understatement). I am not even sure if my girlfriend's are bringing swimsuits but I'd rather be prepared than not.

I saw some really cute tankini's the other day when I was at the mall. This one in particular I thought was cute.

I like the colors and the style on this one. I am in desperate need of a new suit too. I think I might just wait til we get up there and see if I need one, I am sure we'll be making a trip to the mall while we are there anyway.

Yea, Only 3 more days!!

*Yum*

The last few days I have been having a serious craving for Cake Balls. I posted about these on another blog I used to have but don't use anymore.

I first heard about Cake Balls over on DigiShopTalk and I found a recipe for them and I ended up making some. Oh. My. Goodness!! I was in heaven.. they are so good! They didn't last very long of course and they took awhile to make but now that I've done it.. I am sure that I could come up with some shortcuts that will make the process go faster and hopefully a little bit cleaner. I really made a huge mess. But what a tasty mess.

Here is the recipe and a picture of my finished Cake Balls.

INGREDIENTS

1 (18.25 ounce) package cake mix
1 (16 ounce) container prepared frosting
1 (3 ounce) bar chocolate flavored confectioners coating

DIRECTIONS

Bake cake as directed. Let cool for about 15 minutes, crumble into a large bowl while still warm. Stir in container of frosting and mix well.
Form small balls using either your hands or a melon baller. Place in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes so they are well chilled. Meanwhile, melt chocolate stirring constantly. Use a toothpick and a large spoon to coat balls. Place on waxed paper to set. You could even do muffin cups if you wanted.

My notes: I used a package of chocolate chips, but I found this was not enough chocolate so next time I plan on using a couple of chocolate bars or something like that. Last time I melted down some pure chocolate truffles I had in the house. Those were so good!!!

I'm tired

In addition to my long day yesterday, I had a pretty late night. Around 6 pm, my mom called to ask me if I could go over to my brother's and sit with the girls until she got there. Apparently, my brother and sister-inlaw had plans to go out and myn mom was supposed to babysit but she couldn't get out of work on time and had to stay late. She works in San Francisco and we live about 90 minutes away.

So, of course I'll babysit.. how can I say no to those sweet little girls? Besides being over there is much more relaxing! So, I got the girls bathed and into bed and then I was like, "Ok now what?" There was absolutely nothing on tv. You'd think with 8 million satellite channels, there'd be something on.. but no.

I wish that my laptop computer was working, then I could have taken that with me and had some time to get some work done. Yeah, it's still not fixed. Seriously, this is the last time I buy from Dell. It's been a really long time too.

Anyway, my mom finally rolled in around 10:30pm and Guy & Shay didn't get home til after midnight. I finally got home around 1 am and I had to be back up at 7am.

I think someone else is tired too. Liam is refusing to get his socks and shoes on and is now crying because his older brother had to sit on him to get them on him.

I better go and get dressed though, I have to take him to school shortly.

Have a great day!

Holy Crow..What a day!

I feel like this is the only type of post I ever write but when you have 5 kids.. everyday is a LONG day. It's like the war of all Mom wars and here I am putting on my suit of armor and stepping out into battle with a blindfold on.

It is so hot here, it's not even funny. Yesterday, our high was 103 degrees and when I checked the current temperature at 11:00 am it was already 98 degrees. I have to walk to take my son to Kindergarten and I also have a 4 year old to drag along. My 14 year old is out on break right now, which you'd think might be somewhat of a help but he's a teenager.. they don't really help.

I spent the morning coding a Wordpress blog for a friend.. this took more time than usual because the theme was a custom theme and wasn't "widget-aware" so I had to code everything by hand.

Then I had to take my 5 year old to school in this sweltering heat. More coding..which is now done by the way and I am moving on to more complicated and head-banging-on-keyboard projects.

Insert kids jumping off couches and on to siblings, cartoons, lunch, and lots of screaming HERE.

My ever so lovely husband is now home from work. My sister in-law just picked up my 7 year old for a nice long drive down to LA. They are going to watch a friend run in a marathon, go to the beach, and then convientently detouring through Disneyland. It's his birthday present, otherwise I wouldn't let him miss school.

Now we are deciding what to do about dinner.. I have to order groceries later tonight so there isn't much in the house. I'm thinking cheap, fast, not terribly hot, and cheap.

How was your day?

Step 3

So today started off with a full on girl's day of SHOPPING! I desperately needed new clothes not only for my trip to Reno but just because I NEED NEW CLOTHES! I meant to buy a ton of stuff all on clearance. but uh yeah that didn't happen lol. I ended up buying pretty much everything at full price. Except for 1 top and 1 bra because it was buy one get one half off.

After the mall we made a stop for shoes at Target, then lunch at Firkin & Beaver.. great little pub btw, off to Starbucks for Mint Mocha Chip Frappacino.. did you know those come with CHOCOLATE whipped cream?? Then I got my eyebrows waxed, then back to my house where we begain Step 3 of my total hair makeover... what was Step 3 you ask?? Well... let me show ya!

Can ya see it?? Hee hee... I LOVE it!!!!

We're Home! With Pictures..

We're home! He had a great time like I knew he would. He's excited to go back for a full day tomorrow. I am loving his schedule because now Greyson will take a nap! That's where he is right now, asleep lol.

Here are a few pics for you all..

Lined up and waiting for Mrs. O to come get them.

In the classroom...

Everyone got their picture taken with their child also so here's a pic of me and Liam. Shows off my new cut a little better.

Wow.. how did THAT Happen... And is it Tuesday yet?

Only Monday?? Damn. Oh well.. only 24 more hours to go to Step 3.

Today is my little boy's first day of Kindergarten. We leave for his first day in about 45 minutes. For the last 2 or 3 years I've been saying how I couldn't wait for him to start school and maybe I could get some much needed stuff done with only 1 kid left at home. But as it has approached.. I've been finding myself a little sad. Just a little though. It started when my mom and I went to Target on Thursday and bought him his first backpack.

I know he will have a wonderful time, I will get over it fast. He is so smart and gets bored easily here at home and thus gets himself and his brother into trouble (I call them Trouble and Trouble Jr.).

I already know his teacher because Braeden had her 2 years ago and I adore her.

Greyson will have her next year... wow... soon I'll have NO kids during the day! I'm not sure where the time went.. I think I subconsciously blocked it out.

Anyway, I better get a move on.. I'll be back with pictures, I promise!

Personalized Stories.com

I came across this site today that does personalized gifts and I thought they had some really cool ideas for gifts. They have personalized songs on dvd, books, and videos.

One thing that caught my eye were the SuperHero dvd's. My 4 year old would be in absolute heaven with his very own personalized Spiderman dvd. Oh I would never hear the end of that one.

Another cool thing they offer is a subscription plan, which in the long run will save you alot of money. Once a month you get 1 book and 1 cd. Then they bill you every month but you get a 15% discount and you can cancel whenever you want.

I also saw some really cute little Singing stuffed animals, I think this one is my favorite..

Isn't he cute??

Step 2

Step Two of my total hair makeover is.....

A Stylish new cut!

Sorry for the bad pic.. had to take it of myself and that's all you're gettin'!

Today my brother invited me (and my whole clan) over to his house for a BBQ to celebrate our younger brother's and my son Braeden's birthdays. My son's (7th) was on Thursday and my brother's is on Monday. I just loved how he invited me.. first he forgot to call me and my mother reminded him. So he calls and says, "We're having a bbq for...blah blah blah.. and since it was Braeden's birthday too, you HAVE to come." Oh gee thanks.. love you too. Ah well, it was nice of him anyway.

So, my mom and I took the kids over there and spent the afternoon/evening at their house. The kids played, I got to visit with my gorgeous nieces, and I didn't have to cook. We had steak, salad, macaroni salad that my SIL made (YUM!), rice, and sweet white corn. Yes, my brother is a bit of a carb freak. My sister-inlaw busted out the Sangria and sprite and made us some yummy drinks.

Then it was cake time! My mom bought a Cold Stone ice cream cake. They are SO yummy. We've bought 3 of their cakes in the past year. My brother busted out his new hi-def camcorder to record my niece singing Happy Birthday Unca Doo, it was SO cute and my brother is such a gadget junkie!! It was pretty nice though, I might need to get one of those for myself!

Braeden got some new clothes from Uncle and Auntie and perfect timing too because he starts back to school on Monday and now he'll look super cool for 2nd grade! Wow.. 2nd grade.. how did THAT happen??

All in all it was a great night and now I am so ready for the weekend to be over and get all these kids back to school!

Have a great night.

Step One-

Remember not too long ago I was teasing you guys with the knowledge that I planned on doing something new and fun to my hair for my Reno trip?

Well, not only did my supplies arrive today but today is also "Step One" day.

What is "Step One" Day? Well, Step One is dying my hair back to my natural hair color *gasp*, I know! Something, I never thought I'd do. I haven't had my natural haircolor in at least 16 years. But, never fear.. this won't be lasting very long. I just needed a dark one color base for my new doo.

What color is it you ask? It's called Dark Golden Brown.

I look ever so lovely right now. I didn't have a shower cap at home and I couldn't find any at the store so I have resorted to the plastic from the toilet paper 4-pack that I bought. Are you imagining it? Isn't it beautiful? And no, you're not getting any photos.

While I was at the store, I saw that they were selling Alli diet pills. I personally can't take diet pills because most of them interfere with my seizure medication but since this one came out I wondered if it actually worked for people and if so, how well? I looked into diet pill reviews but I really like to hear and see real life testimonials.

Anyone out there taken Alli?
