Update on the Bike..

Since someone asked in a comment on another post (and I replied), I thought I would post that there is no update. Haven't heard from the police and I don't expect to. I am pretty sure we will never see it again.

Anyway, I'm off to bed. I will check in again tomorrow. Have a good night.

Moths ate my couch

Ok so it's more like kids ruined my couch but it has holes in it and I think it's time to get some new furniture. The stinky thing about it is that it was a huge set when we bought it and it was nice. However, we moved and the full set does not fit in our living room. So the loveseat and the coffee table are over at my moms and they are the only pieces that still look nice or don't have my husband's butt imprint in it.

I would like to get some more modern furniture the next time around. I am a trendy person and I tend to flow in that direction. I would like it to still match my coffee table because I really like it. It is wood and it has a lid to hide things in. Great place to store toys with small kids.

In other news- I have something special "in store" for this week. It will be released on Thursday so watch for the announcement!

Hope you all had a great weekend and day today!!

Comcastic

Craptastic is more like it. I am pretty much tired of my cable service. Not so much the service as it is the DVR box they gave us. We've had our account for as long as we've lived here, which is about 3 and a half years. In that time we've had to call and have them replace the box 3 times and the remote 1 time. The problem we are having with the box is that it often gets hung up when trying to fast forward, rewind or look through the guide. All of which I am sure isn't really the box but the connection through the cable.

So we are thinking of switching to satillite. I would really love to go with the new service from AT&T. It would mean a faster connection to the internet too. Our internet isn't throuhg the cable company right now but it would be an added bonus to have it all on one bill.

I am sitting here surfing looking at used cisco equipment, I didn't know that Cisco owned Linksys as well and they have some nice looking DVR boxes.

So that is what I am doing at this very moment in time. I should go clean something so I'll be back later on. Have a great Saturday!

ProActive?

I've seen all the commercials for as long as it's been around. My sister in law has used it for years (this I just found out!) and swears by it. She says that it's the best acne treatment she's ever used. Honestly, I didn't even realize she had an acne problem but that could I've rarely ever seen her without any makeup on.

But I want to hear from real people like all of you out there in blogger-land. Does it really work? Which products work the best and what do I need and what don't I need? Do they give out samples somewhere or can I order some to try it out?

My boys are starting to hit the teen years and unforunetly have inherited their father's skin type. *sigh* Poor kids!

A Great Night

Well, isn't that a drastic change?

Dan ended up coming straight home from work and will go to Party America on Monday. He's got a race this weekend so that will help out SO much provided they have a good weekend. Although anything would be an improvement over last weekend. Cross your fingers for us!

After he got home we went to the grocery store to do some food shopping. I made chili with lean stew meat instead of ground beef. It turned out really good. Then after the little kids went to bed we watched a movie with our older son. It was funny because it was a movie from "our time" and Alex had never seen it. It used to be one of my most fvorite movies and watching it now I can't believe how cheesy it was. Funny but cheesy. It was License to Drive with the Two Coreys.

Now in between blogging this post I am sort of trying to research Lasik eye surgery. I have worn glasses pretty much all my life and I had corrective surgery on my left eye when I was six. I am pretty sure I have astigmatism and I am farsighted, I think. I can never remember which is which and what I am. Anyway, I am basically trying to find out who and who isn't eligible. I would love to get rid of these glasses altogether.

Anyone out there had Lasik?

TGIF?

First,I just wanted to say thank you to the people who commented on my last post. I'd love to say that things are looking up but that hasn't happened yet.

There's no word yet on the bike. I really don't expect there to be but I keep hoping that maybe just maybe someone out there is looking out for us.

Dan just called a minute ago to saythat he wasn'tcoming straight home from work because he was going over toParty America to fill out an application. He already spoke to the hiring manager. Because of the holidays coming up they are hiring extra stock people for the season.

We were supposed to go to an engagement party tonight but we decided that we should probably stay home because the gas is too much.

Ok, enough depressing junk. Let's lighten the mood a little bit.

A cute funny story for you. The other day I kept getting silly medical ads in my email for pulse oximeters. I was joking with my friend about it when she asked, "What in the world is that??" And my reply was.."You know when you go to the hospital and they stick that thing on your finger that makes it look like you need to phone home? That's a pulse oximeter."

We had a good laugh, it was cute.

Ok.. I think I'll cry now.

It's almost 8 pm and things are starting to sink in a bit. This morning Dan went outside to get on his motorcycle to go to work and found that someone stole it. Right out of our parking spot while we were sleeping. So now we don't have a commuter vehicle and are left with just the truck. Which in some cases might be ok except I have kids to cart to school and back. Not to mention we still have to make payments on it and it is highly unlikley we'll ever see it again.

Dan's talking about taking a 3rd job. I really don't know if our relationship can withstand a 3rd job. We barely see each other as it is and I know we both resent each other for it. Him because he hates having to work 24/7 and me because he's never home. But alas we really have no other choices.

We can't afford for me to work outside the home and I'm not qualified to do anything. I've been a SAHM since I was 19 years old. The things I do know how to do, I have taught myself so there's no formal training. I've been turned down for several jobs because I've had to disclose my medical condition. I know they can't not hire me for medical reasons so they just say it's something else, but I know the real reason.

I feel very stuck and hopeless right now and I don't even know where to go from here.

Men!

What is it with men and having to be directly in the line of fire of things?Apparently if you aren't then you don't get the "full effect".

The other night, I come home to find my husband has moved our oversized sofa chair directly in front of our 48 inch hi-def plasma televison set watching a movie like it was his own personal home theater seating.

Why? You tell me. In the past he's also taken over the corner set on the couch because it's directly in the middle of the surround sound and directly in front of the tv screen. And no one else is allowed to sit there.. ever.

Again.. why? Like the police officer said this morning, "women just don't get it". In this case I have to agree, although he was actually talking about men not wanting to wear pants. Why were the cops here at 7 am and who wasn't wearing pants? Well....

Dan's bike got stolen overnight. He went out to leave for work and found his bike was not where he left it. And it was Liam who refused to put on pants this morning. That's pretty much how my day's going so far. How's your day going?

A Pretty Good Day

I had a pretty good day today and I'm not exactly sure why? I mean, I am totally not complaining but nothing out of the ordinary happened that would make me this happy. Maybe it's because I am caught up on my bills and I don't have creditors calling me every 5 minutes. Or telemarketers trying to give me free life insurance quotes or anything like that.

Or maybe it's because I bought coffee creamer last night and had coffee this morning. And yes they have drank a third of the bottle. Hopefully it's still there in the morning. Fingers crossed!

It could also be that my son got all his homework and 2 (!!) chores done before his dad got home from work. He only had one math sheet of like 100 problems to do for homework but he usually drags on that one and complains about doing it but not today! So I didn't have to keep on him at all. That was really nice.

Tomorrow I have a new kit coming out and I am pretty excited about that. It's completely out of the box for me but I am so pleased with how it turned out. So watch out for this week's Thursday edition of the Haps at OScraps, there may just be a little something in it for you!

Anyway, I am going to call it an early night. I was up late last night and I am babysitting my nieces for a few hours tomorrow. Have a good night!

Always on the go..

I was talking to my dad today.. well more like he was talking and I was pretending to listen. I know that sounds bad but seriously.. if you had to deal with daily guilt trips and have to hear about how much his life sucks, you'd pretend too. He's started just "dropping by" without calling because he knows I either won't answer the phone or I won't want company. So then he shows up and I'm forced to answer the door and he parks his butt on my couch and then doesn't leave.

Grr.

Anyway, today he was talking about how he might be going on a trip and asked me how much I thought getting some travel medical insurance would be. Like I would know, ha ha. I shot him a look.

So, then he starts rambling on about how he's going to start getting SSI because he's over 65 and how he's not sure what he is going to do because he needs to work so he can live but he's going to be limited in how much he can make. Basically, he can't make a profit. He's talking about getting a job at Walmart.. oh I can just picture it, my dad the Walmart Greeter Guy. That won't happen though, he'd go back to driving a cab before he did that.

I was glad to have gotten some caffeine in me before he showed up though.. otherwise things could have gone very badly, ha ha.

I am so tired right now. I wish I could go to bed but I have to wait until this last load is done in the dryer so I can switch it out and get Dan's work clothes in the dryer for tomorrow. I wish I would have thought to check too see if he needed clothes washed earlier. As much as I love staying up late and enjoying the peace and quiet.. I am dying to just go to bed.

Anyway, I better get going. Have a great night.

No Coffee Fo' You!

Today should be an interesting day. There's no caffeine in the house. No soda, no coffee.. no chocolate. You all are DOOMED!

OK, I sort of take back that there is no coffee in the house. There is actually coffee, there's just no coffee CREAMER in the house. Why you ask? Because my ever so rotten lovely children DRANK it all. It was a 16 oz bottle and I got 2(!!) uses out of it before they got to it.

You'd think they'd have learned their lessons when instead of a loving mommy who is all chipper and perky (OK, so I'm never chipper and perky but a girl can dream), they got a raving lunatic who needed a fix. But nooooo, of course not. They just keep doing it. I have no idea how to keep them out of it short of putting a padlock on the refrigerator. I have tried buying the powder, which did seem to help for awhile until they decided it would be good to eat that too. Now nothing is safe!

On another note, I never cease to amaze myself. I am the ONLY person I know who could get wrapped up in her Wacom cord while sitting still.

I'll be back after I wake up a bit.

The things you see..

On the side of the road in the middle of nowhere.
I was just thinking about this for no apparent reason other than it was an observation I made while we were on the road to and from the track last week.

On the way up, I noticed every other billboard was for either trucking schools, RV Parks, or truck accident lawyers. I guess it makes sense since normally the only people on this type of road are either truckers or vacationers. They need something other to look at than other cars, the road, and cows.

On the way home, I noticed that roads in the middle of nowhere have no names. For about 2 hours, I saw signs that said "Road 58, Road 32, Road 5..". Do you know what happens when you get past Road 1? It starts all over!

How's that for some major randomness this fine Monday morning? Now where is my coffee?

We're back..

And it was a craptastic day for sales. I did not know this until the day was nearly over but apparently our main camera lens was in the shop so we had a rental. Well, Dan was having a hard time getting the camera to focus fast enough with this lens. So a lot of his shots came out either a little soft or really blurry. There were a bunch of really great ones though, except their owners never came in to check them out.

I guess that's the risk you take with home based businesses, eh?

So, we had a nice quiet ride home, dropped off the trailer and chilled out for a little while. I got to sleep in a little since the kids were still at my mom's. I woke up around 8:30 and cleaned up before I went to pick them up. I get there and my mom says, "Oh you're here early". Um Mom? It's almost 10 am.

She says, "I figured you were going to sleep in so I was going to bring them over later." UGH. I'm thinking well, if I would have known that I would have! Oh well, I needed coffee so that was really the reason I went over as early as I did. That and I didn't want her to feel like I was taking advantage.

The kids were pretty good once I got them home though. Greyson fell asleep on the couch and the other little boys watched cartoons. So I did manage to get some work done while Dan was at work.

Today we are just kind of chilling out. I just got back from taking Alex to a birthday party and the little boys are watching cartoons. So it's nice and quiet.. for now.

Hope you all are having a good weekend.

Is it time to go yet?

This was what my husband asked when he called me at 9 am this morning. I told him no because I was still doing laundry and packing up for the kids. Only a few more hours and we will be hittin' the road jack!

Dan is trying to get me to agree to add travel insurance to our existing policy since we (he) is on the road so much. It makes sense but we will have to wait and see.

All I have left to do is get an outfit for each kid to wear to school tomorrow plus pajama's. You'd think by the mounds of laundry I've been doing that I was packing them for a week. Oh and I have to create a playlist for the mp3 player to listen to on the way up there. It's about a 3 hour drive so we will need alot of good tunes to jam on to.

Oops, there went the laundry buzzer. I better get going before I have to do another school run. Fun fun! Have a good weekend.

It's just around the corner..

And it's not Christmas, It's Halloween!

I was in Walgreens the other day in search of beach toys. Yes, I said beach toys..in September. It's hot still and if they had any, I expected I would be able to get them for next to nothing. Well, I was half right. There was NOTHING! But they did have their huge aisle of doom, err I mean Halloween products set up.

My 7 year old wouldn't even walk down the aisle, but he's a weenie. Just kidding.. sort of. He won't be going T-o-T-ing this year, his choice not mine. He's going to be handing out candy with his dad. Or rather opening the door and running and screaming for his life.

Meanwhile, in addition to birthday invations, Mr. Popularity (who goes by the name of Alex) has started bring home Halloween invitations. As if birthday invites weren't enough? I am completely envious of this child. he can't possibly be mine.. I was the weird geeky chick with glasses who no one invited anywhere unless they felt they had to because you were friends with me in 2nd grade. Now my spawn is like the most popular kid in his class. Good at just about everything and isn't afraid to try new things and fail. And he gets Honor Roll just about every trimester.

Nope, did not get any of that from me.

I did manage to find some beach toys. I went to a few different stores but was able to find a bucket and a few shovels at the dollar store. We had a nice time at the beach, except for Greyson, who got knocked over by a wave and then refused to leave the blanket. He also lost his shovel, which was in his hand when he got knocked over.

So to bide my time I played a little game I affectionately like to call "Bowling for Skyrats". Although it involves a frisbee and not a bowling ball. No worries, no skyrats were harmed in my attempts to smack them upside the head with my frisbee. I will post pictures later, I still need to get them off the camera. Yeah, I know.. there is something seriously wrong with me for not rushing home to download my photos.

Anyway, I hope y'all have a great rest of the morning. I am going to finish my coffee and hopefully accomplish something other than staring at my computer waiting for it to do something magical.

My secret love..

SHOES! I secretly love shoes.. mostly sandals and heels but I love shopping for them. My favorite types are high-heeled, strappy, peep toed sandals. I used to have a nice cork wedge sandal but I wore them to death.

Today I came across a brand I had never seen before, Clarks shoes. I especially loved this one pair here.

Totally cute right? I thought so too! There was a total lack of style this past summer, I swear it was agonizing to find a decent pair of shoes. But Clarks has a wide variety, sandals, heels, clogs, mens shoes too.

Not a whole heck of a lot else going on here today. This morning I did some work for this week's products. I did some work on some other projects I have in the works. I can[t elaborate too much on those as they have yet to be announced. Soon though, I promise!!

I have to go in a bit to pick up Braeden from school so I am going to sign off for now. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Tired & Sore

Ugh.. Monday's are always for me but I am just completely wiped out from the weekend.

Saturday, I helped my mom work her booth at the Bean Festival. We were stuck in between the Wine guy and the futures trading booth. It was pretty cool though, a lot of little local businesses with lost of cool stuff. We were only there a few hours but then we did a bunch of running around town and the mall. Then we headed back to the Festival because my mom paid for this "Friends of {insert city name here}" BBQ afterwards because she just wanted to support the Chamber of Commerce, but she decided to go.. she didn't want to go by herself.

Sunday, Dan and I took the little kids to the beach. Sand walking is HARD. We had to kind of a hike down and then back up so got a little workout. We ran around in the sun for a few hours and came home. The sun just completely wiped us all out. Liam and Greyson were asleep about 10 min after we got in the car and then I fell asleep halfway home.

Even though we went to bed early.. I still didn't sleep well. I think I woke up 2x during the night. So now I'm not functioning.
